Bishop Talbert Swan (@TalbertSwan): Get this: Trump‘s “big beautiful bill” lowers the age of a “dependent child” from 18 years old to seven years old. That means assistance programs designed to help children will no longer include 8-, 9-, 10-, 11-, 12-, 13-year olds. So, a 7 year old in the 1st grade is not a dependent child? These people are SICK!

lifeafterpsychiatry: Make sure you don’t accidentally punish people for communicating their needs and boundaries. When someone cares enough to have the uncomfortable conversation, that’s a compliment and a clear sign that they are invested in the relationship. Yes of course it’s uncomfortable to hear that something you’ve been doing has been upsetting someone you care about when that was never your intention, but people generally only bother to have these conversations with the people they want to keep around - the people they trust to care. If they just didn’t like you, they’d probably just try to avoid you. So make sure you don’t make it into a more punishing experience than it has to be. Try to see the care and the trust behind the criticism, even when it triggers uncomfortable emotions. It’s a good sign that they’re there telling you.

megannn_lynne: I don’t want to be in the loop or out of the loop. I want to be aware of the loop & its contents but free from any loop-related responsibilities.

“Don’t be afraid to call things by what they are. MAGA is a terrorist organization, ICE is a secret police force conducting Ethnic Cleansing, Elon Musk is an oligarch, and Trump is a foreign backed coup d’état figurehead. This isn’t an administration, this is a regime, and your country’s occupied.”

conkreetmonkey: After many years of selective breeding, they’ve finally developed a breed of phoenix that, rather than self-immolating itself into ash, instead roasts itself to a perfect internal 165° F while burning off all the feathers, resulting in an instant, ready-to-eat poultry dinner.

Eric Reinhart: ICE agents should not be permitted to wear masks. They should have their names and identification numbers clearly displayed. Protecting our rights depends upon public accountability. Masked agents of the state abusing and disappearing people is not exactly friendly to that.

Evan Urquhart: You don’t have to be that gung-ho on trans rights to realize that a world where girls’ genitals need to be inspected before they can play any sport is worse for girls than a world where once in a while there’s a trans girl on a girls’ team.

Everyone with even the slightest bit of morality understands that giving tax breaks to the super rich — while cutting Medicare, Medicaid, and SNAP (food stamps) to the poor, the sick, and the starving — is an obscene act of cruelty.

Give love, but don’t exhaust yourself. Be peaceful, but don’t become passive. Have patience, but don’t settle for less. Trust yourself, but don’t develop arrogance. Be open to love, but don’t force a connection.

Someone’s daughter: I hope there’s an animal somewhere that nobody has ever seen. And I hope nobody ever sees it.

NBC News: Tulsi Gabbard wants to overhaul Trump’s daily intelligence briefing to match how he “likes to consume information.” One idea: a Fox News style video version. Truly, the dumbest president in history.

esidubatl: For the record, Trump has only attended 12 intelligence briefings since he took office. In contrast, most American presidents, unless restricted by an emergency, sit down for an intelligence briefing EVERY FUCKING DAY.

Oscar Wilde: “If a friend of mine gave a feast, and did not invite me to it, I should not mind a bit. but if a friend of mine had a sorrow and refused to allow me to share it, I should feel it most bitterly. If he shut the doors of the house of mourning against me, I would move back again and again and beg to be admitted so that I might share in what I was entitled to share. If he thought me unworthy, unfit to weep with him, I should feel it as the most poignant humiliation.”
